MY THOUGHTS ON ARTISTIC INCLINATIONS
Why is it that we draw, paint, sketch, document those precious moments in our lives? Many would think that it is because those moments are so special that it is a wonderful way to make our memories last. Now, while I wouldn't argue with that, I know that there is another reason why some pick up a brush or a pencil and make art. It is a deep need within us.
This isn't true of everyone, only those who are artistically inclined. I don't know if it really has to do with talent or our skill levels, rather it is the inner need to put stuff on paper that makes us do what we do as artists.
It's therapy, a wonderful outlet for frustrated emotions and even sadness. It is a way to celebrate the inner joys that we know are deep inside of us, even when we don't see or feel them on the surface.
So, make art on a daily basis, if you're so inclined. It will be helpful to you as you create it, but not only that, it will be a source of inspiration to those you end up sharing your work with. That's why I love reading blogs.
There are so many out there that feed this artistic hunger within us. I can only hope that I will be able to impart some of this inspiring flow of energy to you. Artistic inclinations come from deep within. It is an important, if not vital need to communicate ourselves in a visual or verbal way. People write because they need to, the want to part comes secondary.
I couldn't function if I tried to deny myself the creative side of life.
