serpentine pavillion london

The design for the 2010 Pavilion is a contrast of lightweight materials and dramatic metal cantilevered structures. The entire design is rendered in a vivid red that, in a play of opposites, contrasts with the green of its park setting. In London, the colour reflects the iconic British images of traditional telephone boxes, post boxes and London buses.

The building consists of bold geometric forms, large retractable awnings and a sloped freestanding wall that stands 12m above the lawn. Striking glass, polycarbonate and fabric structures create a versatile system of interior and exterior spaces, while the flexible auditorium will accommodate the Serpentine Gallery Park Nights and the changing summer weather.
Nouvel’s Serpentine Gallery Pavilion will operate as a public space, a cafĂ© and as a venue for Park Nights, the Gallery’s acclaimed programme of public talks and events, which attracts up to 250,000 visitors each summer. The pavilion design highlights the idea of play with its incorporation of traditional French outdoor table-tennis tables.

boudour with a modern twist very interesting

AltaModa has come up with some really awesome modern concepts for children’s bedroom ideas. ‘Moby’, inspired by Moby Dick, showcases a decor scheme based on the sea and its creatures. It is bright and calming thanks to all that blue and white. Could be appropriate for boys and girls alike. The pink and white ‘Lolita’ room on the other hand, is geared towards girls, with the fun feeling of a ‘boudoir’ with a modern twist. ‘Spirit’ is a collection inspired by British equestrian style. Rich, warm colors make the room elegant and cozy – a happy place for horse lovers. For aviation fanatics, take a look at the ‘Willy’ collection. The room is fresh and modern, the color scheme is cool. The linear pattern of the lampshades and headboard bring in the perfect amount of visual variation. For a classy retro vibe inspired by Britain in the 60s check out the 'Denim' collection. Love those telephone booths. These contemporary children’s bedrooms are so interesting, every detail seems well thought out. Check out more ideas at AltaModa.

fantastic garden fireplace design with wooden pieces
fantastic garden fireplace design with wooden pieces
This outdoor fireplace can used any session, summer, winter, autumn and spring. this fireplace design for kids playroom in winter and night. for build its very limited budget, reusing leftover materials was a starting point that led the design to be based on short wooden pieces. Inspired by the Norwegi an turf huts and old log construction, a 5,2×4,5 meters wooden construction was built and mounted on a lighted and brushed concrete base. The structure is made of 80-layered circles. The circles have varied radiuses and relative center point in relation to each other. Every circle is made out of 28 pieces of naturally impregnated core of pine that are placed with varied spaces to assure chimney effect and natural light. Oak separators differentiate vertically between the pine pieces to assure airflow allowing easy drying of the pine pieces. A double curved sliding door was designed for locking the structure

Colorful Apartment Decorating in Stockholm

colorful-penthouse-stockholm-1.jpg
Colorful apartment decorating is not scary when you have a neutral backdrop, like in this penthouse apartment in Stockholm. Many of us would love to add more color to our living spaces but the task seems daunting since color can have such a powerful effect. For those who are hesitant, keeping the backdrop neutral is a great strategy that allows you to experiment with color without making any costly mistakes. This means using furniture and accessories to color your space. This apartment’s fundamental color palette is black, white and brown; neutral. The sitting nook is the most colorful room in the home. But notice how the blast of color comes from the rug, the seating and the pillows. They chose a complementary scheme of blue and orange and threw in some patterns. The greatest thing is that any amount of color will have a big impact against a neutral canvas. Examine the red details in the home. Red pillows on the seating bench, red vases on the mantle, red stools in the kitchen. They make an impact without being overwhelming and they create a sense of unity between the spaces. And one must not underestimate the impact of books. Displaying your book collection on open shelves is an easy way to introduce color (as long as not all your books are black and white). Swedish Home with a Remarkable Interior Design

swedish-home-remarkable-interior-design-1.jpg
The owners of this Swedish home are lovers of art and design and they have made some remarkable choices with their interior design. Contrast and color with key designer items make this space weirdly and wonderfully appealing. First, let’s address the wall composed of various stones and tiles. It was actually created by the original owner and thankfully they decided to keep it. It adds an instant quirky beauty to the space. The red Womb chair makes a nice modern contrast against it. The dining room is very stylish and warm – those Galaxy pendant lamps are great and they add a slight industrial quality to the room. The kitchen is ultra modern and streamlined, but their pottery collection on the open shelves provides a nice color and style contrast. Exceptionally bright and cheerful, the green room displays lots of art and a yellow Eames chair. A surprising metallic element is introduced by the oversized floor pillow. Overall, this home is stylish, modern, pleasantly quirky and very welcoming.
